Nairobi CHAPTER

Monthly gatherings in the Nairobi chapter provide a welcoming space to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and build lasting friendships within a supportive and collaborative community.

Nairobi is home to over 6 million residents. Known for its vibrant streets, gregarious people, and sweeping landscapes, it's easy to see why this city, often referred to as the Green City in the Sun, is considered the heartbeat of Kenya. It is also the center of the Silicon Savannah, East Africa's most dynamic hub for technological innovation, where mobile money, fintech, and an emerging generation of builders are reshaping the future.

It is in this setting that the Nairobi Chapter of the Mormon Transhumanist Association took root. The chapter began meeting in earnest in July of 2025, drawing together a small circle of like-minded friends with a shared interest in science and religion. In less than a year, that handful of curious minds has grown into a community of more than twenty members, with new voices joining regularly.

The spirit of those early meetings continues to define the chapter. Discussions cover a wide range of topics, including transfiguration, the ethical implications of artificial intelligence, radical life extension, genetic engineering, and the unique opportunities and challenges faced by a continent where technology is rapidly advancing.

Central to its mission is the belief that the divine call to build Zion is a moral imperative, not a passive reward bestowed from above. For the Nairobi Chapter, the future is a collaborative effort—one in which the tools of the Silicon Savannah and beyond are utilized to create a world that is more compassionate, inclusive, and prosperous.
