Wilford Woodruff on Prophecy

Wilford Woodruff
He is a prophet, I am a prophet, you are, and anybody is a prophet who has the testimony of Jesus Christ, for that is the spirit of prophecy.

Eliza R. SnowEach one of us in our organizations is endowed with the germs of every faculty requisite to constitute a god or a goddess.
Orson PrattThe study of science is the study of something eternal. If we study astronomy, we study the works of God. If we study chemistry, geology, optics, or any other branch of science, every new truth we come to the understanding of is eternal; it is a part of the great system of universal truth. It is truth that exists throughout universal nature; and God is the dispenser of all truth—scientific, religious, and political.
James E. TalmageAccording to the conception of geologists the earth passed through ages of preparation, to us unmeasured and immeasurable, during which countless generations of plants and animals existed in great variety and profusion and gave in part the very substance of their bodies to help form certain strata which are still existent as such. . . .
President Young asked Elder Orson Pratt what he thought of his preaching that intelligent beings would continue to learn to all eternity. Pratt said that he believed the Gods had a knowledge at the present time of every thing that ever did exist to the endless ages of all eternity. . . . President Young remarked that . . . it was not true: it was false doctrine, for the Gods and all intelligent beings would never cease to learn.
If there was a point where man in his progression could not proceed any further, the very idea would throw a gloom over every intelligent and reflecting mind. God himself is increasing and progressing in knowledge, power, and dominion, and will do so, worlds without end. It is just so with us.
