New Africa Regional Presidency Appointed

Here is a message from the outgoing president, Screven Usi:

Serving as the Africa Regional President for the Mormon Transhumanist Association over the past 14 months has been an absolute joy. I can’t think of a more rewarding experience in recent memory. I’m equally honored to have worked alongside Samuel Osse and Keneth Isabirye: both remarkable individuals with big ideas and the savoir-faire to match. I am incredibly proud of the groundwork we have laid and the conversations we have initiated across the continent. We have every confidence in the incoming presidency and wish them the very best in their service.

Reflecting on the past year, our focus has been on attracting and engaging with a new generation of pioneers open to exploring new frontiers with the full vibrancy of their faith. Our mission calls us to be compassionate creators. The responsibility that devolves upon us now is to drive forward-looking initiatives while fostering communities that reflect our highest virtues. The work of transformation is an ongoing, collaborative effort whose central aim is to elevate the human condition, and one in which we are all invited to participate. I invite you all to heed this call and embrace the future with optimism.

As I hand over the baton, I look forward to supporting the new presidency and witnessing what this community will achieve next. The question at the core of our Association remains immediate and personal: what life, joy, love, community, and heaven will we create? I am confident that the incoming leadership and the MTA collective in Africa will continue to explore that question and inspire the next generation of innovators. Thank you for the trust you placed in me during this tenure and for your shared commitment to our mission.

I am honored and humbled to serve as Africa Regional President of the Association. MTA in Africa has a special mission beyond the intersection of science and religion: to help others realize that we are part of this great cause and ethical human flourishing unites us. I’ve seen it happening since I became a member and invited others to join me.

I’m grateful to Screven Usi and the entire existing leadership for setting the pace.

I am looking forward to strengthening our presence in this marvelous continent, working hand in hand with everyone, and establishing an environment where knowledge becomes our daily quest and morality becomes our nature.

Africa has a transhumanist story to tell, and we will tell it. We will work on articles and annual conference that unites thinkers and enthousiats around the good use of technology for human flourishing.
